Catching fish in Lake Nussbaum has a very long tradition in Ittingen Charterhouse and dates back to the early years of the Kartäuser Monastery in Ittingen.
At the same time, the Seebach Valley with Lake Nussbaum is also a wonderful, idyllic recreation area. A hike or a cycle ride from Ittingen Charterhouse to the Nussbaum Lakes offers an impressive natural experience. Dragonflies, grasshoppers, ground beetles, large butterflies, spiders, molluscs, fish, amphibian, reptiles, birds, bats and beavers can be seen. The Seebach Valley is also of national importance topographically as a ‘glacial landscape’ between Thur and the Rhine with the Nussbaum Lakes and Andelfingen lake plate’.
