Albert von Ittingen becomes the first Augustinian provost. Saint Laurentius becomes the patron saint.

Sale of the monastery premises to the Charterhouse Order.

Pillaging and destruction of the Charterhouse Ittingen in the so-called Ittingen Storm.
1798
The Helvetian monastery law forbids the inclusion of novices. The assets of the monasteries are declared state property.
1848
Rescission of the monastery.
1867
The Fehr family buys the monastery premises and uses them for agriculture, viticulture and wine trading for more than 100 years.
1977
The ‚Ittingen Charterhouse’ foundation takes over the facilities and rescues the former monastery from ruin.
1979 – 1983
Restoration of the entire premises.
2001
Today, Ittingen Charterhouse with its cultural, spiritual and historical aura is one of the monastery premises with overall European importance. The Ittingen Charterhouse has become a meeting place and venue for people of all cultures, nations and religions. The Charterhouse has dedicated itself to the continuation of monastic values and for this purpose runs a training and conference centre, a gastronomic establishment, a farm estate with dairy and viticulture, the residential home and workshop for psychologically and mentally impaired people and houses an art museum of the canton of Thurgau, the Ittingen Museum and the tecum which is the Protestant meeting and training centre.
